About this instrument

Have you ever dreamed of carrying an arpa doppia — an instrument over two metres tall — in a standard car, with almost no compromise in playability? Lmyra is the wider-range version of our Myra model.

It does not actually add many strings: one in the treble and five in the bass. But when the range grows from G–C to B–D, the instrument’s possibilities multiply. The lowest string, B, can be tuned down to A or G — the string gauge was designed with this in mind — enabling what harpsichordists call the “short octave” and effectively giving you an extra bass octave. A wide range, in a harp that still fits in the car.

The standard price is for the most economical flat-back version; a five-stave back version is also available. Carvings, soundboard paintings, gold leaf and a custom decorative rosette can be added to taste — contact us for pricing of these options. Carrying cases are sold separately, in softcase and hardcase versions.
